I've tried installing the game on a new SSD/HDD to see if that would work, and it doesn't. When I try to repair these files, it says "0 files repaired." I've tried copying over the files from the downloading folder into the Destiny 2 folder, but that doesn't work-Steam keeps saying there's 0 B in the Destiny 2 folder-like it doesn't recognize any files there. Normally it would create the game under Steam -> Steamapps -> Common -> Destiny 2, but that file is blank. What I've noticed is when I go into the Steam folder, the entire D2 game looks to be sitting under the Steam -> Steamapps -> Downloading -> 1085660 folder-it has the D2 launcher, the D2 game, and a bunch of other files. Steam starts to download the files again, verifies, and then asks me to resume, etc etc. I noticed that when I click on the Manage Downloads at the bottom of Steam, it brings up D2 and shows it under "Unscheduled," and says in red, "Corrupt Update Files." There's a little refresh icon near that, so I click it. I've even checked the health of my SSD and my RAM-didn't realize how long Memtest86 was going to take-but my SSD is in good health and no errors on my RAM. I've uninstalled D2 and Steam, separately and together. Some have said to change your Download Region, which I've done. And it has become this vicious circle.ĭid some google searches and people were saying to clear your download cache, which I've done. So I clicked Resume, and it went through the verification process again. Once that was done, the blue button switched from Pause to Resume. So I clicked update, and it went directly to "Verifying" for about 2 minutes. When I started the game up the next morning, it said I needed to update something. I don't remember the error, but it was late and I decided to take it as a sign to go to bed. So when I was playing Destiny last night in Steam on my PC, the game crashed. No RAM issues when I ran tests, but once I took them out and put them back in, the game magically worked. EDIT: Taking the RAM out and putting it back in worked.
